Hyperliquid (HYPE), Zcash (ZEC), and Near Protocol (NEAR) have been going against the larger cryptocurrency market trend. While Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, etc., saw significant price corrections over the last few days, the three coins named by Hayes have delivered substantial gains. Let’s discuss what’s driving each of them.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) climbed to an all-time high of $64.27 on May 24, 2026, a rare occurrence given the larger bearish market. The cryptocurrency has been seeing increased price action after the launch of its spot ETF. Even Goldman Sachs has invested in a Hyperliquid-related firm, according to its recent 13f filing. Hyperliquid also said it will offer pre-IPO exposure to SpaceX. The move could lead to more people flocking to the exchange, and driving up prices of its native cryptocurrency.

Zcash (ZEC) had some internal conflicts earlier this year, but has since moved ahead. The cryptocurrency could be surging due to an increase in the demand for privacy-focused coins. More and more people are worried about surveillance around their transactions, and may have flocked to the asset. Despite its upswing over the last few days, Zcash (ZEC) is still down by nearly 80% from its all-time high of $3,191.93.

Near Protocol (NEAR) is an AI-focused cryptocurrency that could be rallying due to the hype around AI products. The project recently announced some tools for AI-related transactions, such as confidential treasuries, essentially private vaults for AI agents managing funds, and privacy features built around AI prompts.
